A warm welcome awaits you in the gites "Gros Becs" and "Mesanges" in Alsace, in the department of Haut Rhin (upper Rhine), in the south of Alsace, near Colmar. They are located amongst the wines, forests and heath lands of the Vosges Mountains in a unique setting for an unforgettable holiday. Orschwihr, a wine-producing village on the Route du Vin nestles at the foot of the Bollenberg, a protect nature site well known for its heathland and exceptional flora and fauna. There is a vast choice of things to do and discover: cultural or sporting activities, Christmas Markets, Alsatian Traditions, regional gastronomy, walks and local historical heritage sites... Our little corner of paradise will win you over ! You can get there quickly on La Route des Cretes (the Hilltop Road) via Guebwiller and the Vallee du Florival.
You will find : signposted walks in the forest to Bollenberg, vineyard walks, cycle tracks which link neighbouring villages and mountain biking circuits. You will discover: the wine route with its pretty villages, the hilltop route with its typical "Fermes Auberges" (High Mountain Farm Inns), the old town of Colmar and the religious buildings on the Roman Road, hilltop fortifications, National Museums in Mulhouse and the Eco-Museum with its inter-active displays and some 70 authentic houses. You will taste : the regional gastronomy in one of the many typical alsatian restaurants and sample a wide range of grape varieties such as Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Riesling... in the wine cellars. Late harvest and wines made from selected grapes will no longer remain a complete mystery to you ! All our houses have a terrace, a garage or a private parking in an enclosed driveway with access via remote-controlled gates. There is free WI-FI access and DVB - T T.V. For your comfort and safety, all the kitchens are equipped with induction hobs.
On the forest road, you will find the "Gite des Gros Becs", a gite on one level sleeping 4 people, with a surface aera of 83 square metres, with 2 bedrooms, a covered terrace, pergola, garden and open fire. One hundred metres further on, you will find the "Gite des Mesanges", a newly built house with a floor surface of 100 square metres, sleeping 4 people and a charming little annexe sleeping 2 people. They both surround a swimming pool measuring 10 metres by 5 metres. A new gite for 2 people is now available for rent. "Le Nid des Mesanges" (The Blue Tits'Nest) is partly below ground level with a large bay window overlooking the pool. It is a charming property, decorated in shades of grey and taupe. "Les Gites des Mesanges" can easily accommodate three generations: parents and children in "Le Grand Gite" and grand parents in "Le Petit Gite" where they can be more independant. Whatever the size of your party, you will find an unrivalled level of comfort awaiting you and a warm welcome in all seasons ! Our Gites receive 3 stars in Guide Book of the Gites de France under numbers 3874, 3943 and 3944 and are situated in Orschwihr, Haut Rhin. |
